More news on The Phantom Pain front today as it appears like we finally may have confirmation that Hideo Kojima is indeed behind the mysterious game. Now of course it seems like one of the worst kept secrets in gaming at this stage but it’s nice to have some sort of confirmation from the man himself, even though it’s not a direct “Yes, I am making the game”.
This all stems from a picture posted on Kojima’s official Twitter earlier today:
Here’s a better look at that picture:
Eagle eyed users over on Neogaf have noticed that the name of the file (in the red highlighted area above) is TPP_GDC2013_720p, and the screen reads Producer / Game Designer / Director Hideo Kojima. So considering The Phantom Pain can be abbreviated to TPP, and GDC stands for Game Developers Conference, which Kojima just so happens to be making an appearance at next week to show off the Fox Engine and Ground Zeroes, I think there’s a pretty good chance we can now expect a firm confirmation of his involvement in The Phantom Pain, along with a brand new trailer.
Stay tuned to Stop, Drop and Play as we’ll be extensively covering all the Kojima news, along with everything else that comes out of GDC next week.
